We are setting our sights on retirement now that we are in our 50’s…and that sure snuck up! We are at the crossroads of keep working 40-60 hours a week for another 10 years or start thinking about our retirement & our future plans.

We have been toying with the idea of moving out to the east coast (our parents aren’t overly keen on the idea, Gerry’s mom more so and has been giving us the “poor me” comments for a while). We (I) want to get our business up for sale sooner rather than later. Who knows how long it will take for someone to come along to buy it, am I right?! It is time to start building our nest egg for the next 30-40 years. And there’s no time better for selling the business than now while it is performing so well, it’s stressing Gerry out way too much for my liking these days. He can’t let it go, I know it is his baby, but it’s time to start cutting that string. He needs less stress, more sleep, more relaxation and a lot more “me” time...and so do I. I would like to keep him around for quite a few more years!!

As for me, I think my job security will be coming to an end sooner rather than later since Umbrel was sold in May, so I want to get all our ducks in a row before this happens. (Who knows they may keep me on as part time?? Doubt it though)

I desperately have been dreaming of having a small retail shop out near the cottage. It’s my thing! I’d have lots of home decor, souvenirs of West Point, games and things to do at the cottage/trailer park, gems and stones, some clothing (with West Point on them), plants for sure!! Maybe some small snacks/baked goods, coffee tea, etc. Start doing workshops again...its so much fun! I have this real urge inside of me that this is what I need to do!! I told Gerry he could make things and sell them…not sure exactly what those things are yet but I have plenty of ideas floating around in my head...and my Pinterest boards LOL!

I am always scoping the Realtor.ca website for cute places to live...I would have moved one hundred times over already if we didn't still have our business. Another BIG decision will be where exactly we will live...Will it be New Brunswick? Nova Scotia? or PEI? We are up in the air at this point but we do talk a lot about it and will narrow it at some point soon I think.

The end is in sight I just need Gerry to help in getting the ball rolling, we aren’t getting any younger.
