After the passing of my cousin, I thought to myself, what do you want your obituary to say about you??

This was a hard question for me. After putting some thought into it I came up with the following:

“Nichole was a quiet person with a huge heart. She was an avid gardener of the years. Loved her family, friends, animals of all kinds and (of course) her dogs with all her soul. She was a generous giver to those who were not as lucky to have as much as her. Anything she starts she does it with her whole heart and soul. She was passionate about home decorating, photography, and in her spare time crafting of all sorts…defiantly if it included working with her hands. Spending time on PEI at the cottage was a must every year! She enjoyed the quiet solitude and being at peace in nature…and she enjoyed spending time with her neighbours there very much as well. She loved collecting books about many different subjects (even if she didn’t read them LOL!), anything old/antique that intrigued her, and anything to do with whatever passion was sparked in her at that particular moment. She enjoyed researching her family tree trying to find out exactly where she came from. She lived a great life and was fortunate enough to be able to see some of this big world through traveling, though she preferred to be at home close to her family and her few friends.”

What would yours say about you? Have you ever sat down and wondered/thought about it?

I have always had a quiet life, but couldn’t imagine not doing anything to leave some kind of a legacy behind me. I know a lot of people would say “Gah, I don’t even want to think about death or dying” But why not? I think it helps you to build your legacy to be remembered by, not forgotten about.
